Training Methods for your Racing Pigeons
In the race to find the best training method I came across two additional methods that you might find effective.
The firs is the:
Celibacy System – The Celibacy system works as such: After the first batch of eggs have hatched, the hen and cock are separated by solid, thick partitions. The object is to not to allow them to see or be with each other. Now both of them are allowed to train and race, but for the rest of the season they are to remain separate from each other.
The second system is called the:
Jealousy System - In this system you utilize the pigeons emotions. But this system can be dangerous. The mental and even physical health of your racing pigeons are at stake. There is a chance the cocks involved will start to dislike each other and begin to fight each other. The process works as such put the first cock with the hen and let them have a few hours with each other and then remove them.
After a period of 2 hours put in the second cock with the hen. Then place the first cock in a separate basket in which he can see the second cock with his hen. This process should also be performed on the second cock as well. The goal here is that onn race day, both of them will race faster because they each think the other one is there with the hen.
There is a huge risk because they may arrive at the same time and begin to fight. This method is very effective but highly dangerous and should be done only if you have a great deal of experience with pigeons.
Both of these training methods are for experienced pigeons and not youngsters. Youngsters are usually naturally trained. Both of these systems have been proven to work. You may try a combination of the two the goal here is to find a winning system that works for you. These are just the fundamentals of the system and need to be exercised and tweaked to be done effectively.
